paste style doesn't work on login widget

I was trying to alter the font characteristics of "Lost your password?" and "Register" at the bottom of the Elementor login form by using 'paste style'. It doesn't work. It's an Elementor widget so we can't blame the problem on someone else's widget implementation. What is the problem? Does anyone have a workaround? I'm guessing it might be possible to coerce font characteristics via css if the element IDs of these 2 text fields were known.
