Bit of background & then the question....
I have a very very very old hosted 3page informational site from 2011 that I'm finally updating a bit into one page. I don't sell anything. All purely informational. Wow, things have come so far since my tiny knowledge of html back then.
I set up wordpress with my hosting a few weeks ago, bought Elementor Pro, have been experimenting with the Elementor tools and also finalizing what I want my new small site to look like. I now know exactly visually what I want, have the overall layout figured out....although my code/images/margins are really screwed up atm due to the way I've been yanking containers around. I'll have someone else fix the thing. I just needed to visualize.
I'm mind setting a one-pager, lots of space, with three main column areas and a contact form.
On each of the three main zigzag areas that describe three historically different products of mine (with couple pics at each section),I have a paragraph of info for each.
What I'd LIKE to have going on is a bit of a paragraph next to photos..sort of teaser sentences...and then a "more" button to reveal rest of the text info.....rather than a long paragraph or two for each section that ends up extending the page & need to scroll.
On a lot of sorta-onepager sites I see, a more button just tags further down a page.....where long paragraphs end up sitting in long form anyway....taking up space.
Is that my only option for the "more" buttons?
Or am I able to somehow have a "more" button just refer to a child container of longer text within the parent text container of say, product section 1 etc? In a way that can then be closed to hide the long paragraph, instantly returning to the teaser sentences previously on.
I appreciate any navigation tips/ideas anyone has.
I'd like it to be easy to see header, three main zigzag areas, contact form, footer. Lots of black space.
By the way, I began this Elementor journey trying templates/themes for a couple of weeks and absolutely nothing worked. I really disliked all of them......so this page I'm working on has been created completely from blank page scratch.....referencing a couple of one-page sites out there that I do love the look of fontwise, spacewise etc.
Thanks!
