How to toggle a popup without the long #URL?

I'm loading a website's menu using Elementor Pro popups, but the URL looks something like /#elementor-action%3Aaction%3Dpopup%3Aopen%26settings%3DeyJpSDtAfSUaIFfeGSF

How can I toggle this using JS without displaying an URL? Thank you for your help.
