Elementor Polylang language selector crashes website favicon

We use WordPress with Elementor Pro and recently installed the Polylang plugin for mulit-language support. After the setup of German and English website and implementation of Elementor Polylang language selector the website’s preview did not show the favion but instead the language flag. Disabling the language selector resets the favicon to normal.

Also, the favicon is set to German flag on the English as well as on the German website (see attached image).

Do you have any idea, how to solve this issue with activated Elementor Polylang language selector?

We have solved the problem by adding the favicon on each of the pages as an article image.
