"Edit using Elementor" not shown for my page

The (free) Elementor plugin is installed and activated. But when I go to the page to edit it, the "Edit with Elementor" option does not display. The result is that a site that I developed in Staging and promoted to production is lacking in the Elementor page content (although the Header & Footer Builder content is there. So when I update the site into production, the content is missing.
