Automate import of external image from Google Docs?

I have a customer that wants to present a graph on his website which is created regularly and sits in Google Docs. Is it possible to either pick it up and publish it every hour on his site or could I automate the site fetching it when a link is clicked on the site? Hope that makes sense!
