I'm not sure I'm doing this right at all. I am using the basic Elementor, so the Elementor Footer Widget Theme isn't available to me:
But I understand I can still make a footer in WP. I'm just not sure I'm doing it right. This is what I'm working with:
I don't get it. There's no controls for setting colours or layout or anything. I can't leave my footer looking like this.
I think I may be in the wrong place. I think what I'm doing here is not making my footer; I think I'm making a widget that can get put in my footer.
But I find no place in WP to actually assemble a footer.
I've found this in the Menus section, and it seems to allow me to make something I can call a Footer, but it still doesn't allow me to do anything to it - I can't colour it or add a logo or add text to it or anything. And finally, I don't seem to see a way of actually getting it to appear in the footer of my pages.
