Hello hello,

I am new to wordpress and elementor. Now I created a beautiful homepage via elementor and it was also online. But now when I go to my website I only see an empty area.

So when I view the page in WordPress it is empty, when I want to edit it in Elementor my entire page is there again. (in edit mode, so not online)

What am I doing wrong?

It sounds like your homepage isn't properly assigned in WordPress settings or there might be a conflict. Here's how to fix it step by step:
  1. Set as Homepage
    • Go to Settings > Reading in WordPress
    • Under "Your homepage displays," select "A static page"
    • Choose your Elementor-created page from the dropdown
  2. Check Page Status
    • Ensure the page is published (not draft/private)
    • Confirm in Pages > All Pages that status shows "Published"
  3. Clear Cache
    • Clear WordPress cache if using a caching plugin
    • Clear browser cache (Ctrl+F5 or Cmd+Shift+R)
    • Clear server cache if using hosting provider caching
  4. Theme Conflicts
    • Try temporarily switching to Hello Elementor theme
    • Check if page appears (this tests for theme conflicts)
  5. Plugin Conflicts
    • Disable other plugins temporarily (except Elementor)
    • Check if page appears, then re-enable one by one
  6. Elementor Settings
    • In Elementor editor: Click the gear icon (page settings)
    • Ensure "Page Layout" is set to "Elementor Full Width" or appropriate template
  7. Regenerate CSS (Elementor)
    • Go to Elementor > Tools
    • Click "Regenerate CSS & Data"
    • Click "Clear Cache"
  8. Check Permalinks
    • Go to Settings > Permalinks
    • Click "Save Changes" to flush rewrite rules
  9. Browser Console Check
    • Open browser developer tools (F12)
    • Check Console tab for JavaScript errors
    • Check Network tab for failed file loads
  10. Check Template Conditions
    • If using a theme builder (like Elementor Pro):
    • Verify your homepage template is applied to the homepage
If the problem persists after these steps:
  • Re-save the page in Elementor
  • Check server error logs (ask your hosting provider if needed)
  • Ensure PHP memory limit is at least 512M
Let me know which step resolves it or if you need clarification on any of these steps!

thank you for your clear and comprehensive answer. I have gone through all the steps and it has made no difference.
Can you explain to me how to do the last step, the php limits?
