website distorts when manually decreasing window size

How do I prevent my website from squishing when the window is manually decreased on desktop? By squishing, I mean my business name at the top of the page for instance, gets all out a whack and doesn't maintiain the margins. Or, in Windows, when "throwing" the full window to one side to create a "half window", it is distorted.

Because your are manually resize the window it's your media queries are not giving a true reflection because the browser agent still see that it's a web browser not an actual mobile device.
