Tablet mode not displaying correctly

Hi there, I'm new to Elementor and have just begun creating my first site. It is looking exactly as I want on desktop and mobile view. When I switch to tablet mode in the Elementor preview on my desktop it shows the site stacked into one column as I want and would expect on a tablet. However, when I actually view the updated live site on two actual tablets, it's still displayed in two columns as per the desktop view and looks messy. I can't work out why it shows correctly in the tablet preview mode through Elementor, but not actually on a real-life tablet. If anybody could help, it would be much appreciated!
