Question Simple question on inserting images and size settings

Hi,

Probably a stupid question but when you insert an image, it gives you the ability to select image size from the drop down. I was not paying attention and see that it defaults to 1024 x 1024. Is it really putting that size in the code or is it putting the correct size since it sees the width and height from the actual image itself?

I've started to just select FULL under the image size on new ones but should I go back and change the old ones I have already added?

Thanks for any advice on proper settings and how you do it.
