Need help with line spacing in a Text Editor Element

By default, paragraphs (lines with hard returns) are separated by extra spacing. For example, if I enter 3 lines of text, it formats like this:

This is line #1

This is line #2

This is line #3

But the extra spacing are not text lines, but extended spacing.

I'd like it to show up like this by default:

This is line #1
This is line #2
This is line #3

Is there a global setting to achieve this?
