Elementor Text Editor behaving strange

[Stubborn Learner]

So I am relatively new to Elementor so please forgive me if I don't explain this right

Here us the scenario

I drag a text editor widget to a container on my page
I want to edit / add text

If I use the widget box on the left all is ok. It's just that is not a great place to work on a page

I am supposed tp be able to work on it on the right side by just clicking in the box.
That does not work
Sometimes I can get it to work by first clicking the icon in the upper right had corner of the text box. Then I have to select all and then click somewhere in the text so I can move my cursor with the arrow keys.

I am obviously missing something here. Can someone assist
