Elementor pro + Layers | Single --> Page template not working

Hi,

fresh installation Wordpress 5.4 --> Layers 1.03 --> Elementor --> Elementor 2.92. Php: 7.3.5

1) I set template for single pages (assigned either to all pages or specific pages nothing changes)
2) I create a new page
3) No results.

Same identical procedure works fine with articles.
Same identical procedure works fine with pages using different themes (I did try 2 or 3).

Can someone please tell me if there is some step I am missing for Layers theme to make single page template works fine?
