Question Can't Get Content to Extend to End of Column

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I cannot get my content to stretch across the entire length of a column. I'm trying to create an archive template with the image to the left of the content. But no matter what I do, the content will only take up half the column. I've attached a screen shot of what I mean.

I think I see 2 columns here overlapping? (Because of the column-handling icon s on the top-left)

Have you tried a 2 column structure, one for the video and one for the text, just next to eachother?

No what you see is the post thumbnail aligned to the left of the content.
Anyway I just scrapped it and tried something different.
