Question Cannot link to PDF - server error 510

Hi,

In a Text Editor element, I am trying to create a link to a PDF, which I have uploaded to a local directory of my server. This is the same domain under which Wordpress is running, but I created the documents folder manually via FTP).

I can add the link but when updating the page, I get an error 510. I tried different link forms, full URL, relative URL, all of them lead to the same error. If I link an HTML page under the same directory it works fine, only linking PDF leads to the 510 error. Also just opening the PDF link in a browser works fine, so I know the link is correct.

What could cause this?

Any ideas anyone?

It seems all other kind of files work. Just linked a ".docx" file and it works just fine. Only if I link a ".pdf" file I get this server error 510.

Not really, only a workaround, created a small HTML file that redirects to the PDF and linked to that HTML.
