Why is image uploaded magnified in the container?

I have 6 logo images in a vertical carousel. The images are all 300w x 99 - 300h in jpg format, although I have tried png and tiff.
The 300x100 or a 300x150 image is magnified so that image displayed is 900x300 or 600x300. Therefore the width is truncated when displayed.
Could it have something to do with the Verticle Carousel script? I have no idea how to edit it to fix this issue.

I solved my question/issue above!
FYI - For each image I needed to change on the Style tab, the Image Height to "% 100" .
