Password-protecting Menus and Sub-Menus?

Hello,

New to this community and to Elementor.

I have developed a small site for my wife where I post documents relating to several courses she teaches. Currently students access documents from menu and sub-menu items (3 levels if I remember correctly). But as it stands, students of one course can access all other courses in other menu items. This is not a commercial issue since my wife teaches in high school, but students can end up downloading the wrong documents before exams if they browse the wong course (they are quite similar). I have also noticed that some downloads come from teachers in other colleges simply taking advantage.

So I am looking for your advice as to how best to protect each course, represented by one main level and sub-level menu items, perhaps using different passqords for each course. I found a plugin that pass-protects individual pages, but not menu items in block including sub-levels. To be honest, I don't even know that it's the way to go: perhaps it should be done at the WP level, not Elementor. I just don't know and I would really be grateful for your suggestions and comments before I start tinkering and breal everything!

I attach a screenshot: there would normally be 6 or 7 main level menu items, but same difference.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

Chris
