Issues in rendering background colors in PC version of MS Edge

i am having an issue with displaying correctly the background colors of a search form and a few buttons.
when displayed on any other browser (including Edge for Mac) the background colors show correctly as below:

when displayed on Edge for windows I get this instead:

anyone able to help me maybe with some CSS code that could force the correct background?
any alternative solution would be appreciated as well....

PS: i am a total ignorant when it comes to CSS so i would really appreciate some basic explanation
